The atmosphere was very good and the cultural programme very varied and full. This has been a good opportunity to study the language and get to know the art and history of Siena.

I enjoyed staying with a Sienese family for four months. They have taken me to do many things such as hunting quail, visiting the sea and making olive oil. I live in the Tuscan hills with olive trees and a vineyard down the hill. Thay have taught me much about Italian life, food, history and the history of Siena and the Palio.
I've learned to eat two plates of pasta before the main course - I'm now 30 pounds heavier and I enjoyed every one of them!! During the culture course Conoscere Siena I saw many places that my family told me about. We visited Castelvecchio (the oldest part of the city, dating back to 1100), the frescoed town hall, cathedral museum with its religious relics, the home of Santa Caterina, and basilica of San Domenico, home to Santa Caterina's head and finger!

The teachers are very good. When we find something difficult to understand, they explain it several times if necessary until we understand. Even after lessons they explain and tell us lots of useful things. The fact that the students come from different countries and are of different ages makes it very interesting to study here and gives everyone the opportunity to learn about different cultures and customs.

From our first contact with the Societ?ante Alighieri school we have been impressed with the kindness and efficiency of everyone working with the school. The staff at the school has never hesitated to help us with our myriad needs, from finding comfortable lodgings for us and our two daughters to registering our children in the local elementary school. We truly would not have been able to work our way through the maze of paperwork needed to settle ourselves in Siena for seven months without the efforts of the Dante Alighieri staff.
In addition, we have enjoyed the talented and knowledgeable teachers, who have provided innumerable opportunities for us to learn about Italy. The teachers have shared a very personal side of Italy, not only through classroom discussions, but also by guiding historical tours of Siena and including us in local festivals and sporting events. We are looking forward to upcoming courses in Italian culture, cooking and film. We highly recommend the Dante Alighieri school as a wonderful way to learn Italian, while experiencing the richness and beauty of Italy.

I have been in Siena for quite a while. This is a beautiful city, for its different culture and especially for the famous Piazza del Campo where the Palio horse race is run on 2nd July and 16th August. I think Siena is an ideal place for studying. I decided to study here myself because it is a calm and not chaotic city.

When I arrived here I didn,t even know how to say yes or no in Italian. Thanks to the Dante Alighieri school and its very good teachers, in 10 months I have learnt to speak the language well. I can tell you that Siena is an ideal place in which to live and study. My time here has flown by.
When I go back to Turkey I,m sure I,ll miss the school and Siena.
Good luck to all those who decide to study Italian at the Dante Alighieri.

I had a very instructive two months in Siena learning the Italian language and about Italian culture in order to understand the Italians better. I would recommend the school to more mature people too.

We liked the school very much. We found the people who work in the office very competent and friendly, while the director of studies and various teachers we had were all efficient and kind. The atmosphere, especially in the Cloister of San Domenico, was lovely and we really enjoyed staying in the city of Siena. Our best wishes to the school and all its staff!
