How do you 'showcase' my organizations' brochures?
Worldwide Classroom has a table at each study abroad fair we attend. On the table we have a display unit which showcases one brochure for each school that is participating. Most students stop by the fair between classes and review brochures jotting down e-mail and web addresses of programs of interest or complete Information Request Forms. Information Request Forms are forwarded to you.
How do I know if any students are interested in my school?
When students visit our table at the study abroad fairs, they usually complete an information request form including their name, email, what they want and where. We input this information and forward it to you so you can respond directly to the student. In addition, students that complete the on-line Program-Finder on www.worldwide.edu are also forwarded to appropriate participating schools. The same is true for students that e-mail, phone, fax or mail their requests to Worldwide Classroom.
What types of organizations participate in Student Outreach at North American Universities?
Organizations of all types have participated in our outreach programs. If you want your information to be seen by students, faculty, and group leaders, outreach is for you. Language institutes, university exchange programs, graduate programs, cultural studies of all types and internship and work organizations participated last year.
Should I go myself or have you go on my behalf?
We encourage schools to attend the fairs themselves. It is better for students if they can talk directly to you and discuss their questions and concerns in person. If you want to attend the fairs personally, please let us know as we may be able to assist you with contact information. Student Outreach at North American Universities is for schools which cannot attend all the fairs personally due to time or budget limitations. If you cannot go, we will be happy to attend on your behalf at a cost which is very low since costs are shared by participating schools.
At how many university fairs may I have my brochures showcased?
You may participate at one to 40 fairs through WWC. Normally, WWC participates in 50-70 outreach events annually but we do not showcase the same school at all the fairs.
How long has WWC been doing this?
Worldwide Classroom has conducted outreach programs for the past 32 years. University study abroad fairs have grown significantly in popularity since the early 1990âs. WWC has attended over 600 fairs and conferences on behalf of schools in the past decade.
What types of people attend these fairs?
Current university students, graduating high school students, university faculty, group leaders, mature adults, area high school teachers most fairs are well attended.
What if I want to personally attend one or more of these fairs?
We welcome you to do so and look forward to meeting you. Please let us know if you need any contact information. You may reserve your own table or join us at ours. Also, we would be happy to meet with you for coffee or dinner.
Can I 'showcase' with you AND attend myself?
Yes, many schools do. Sometimes schools want their information available at several tables, sometimes schools can only attend a few fairs and want to participate in the entire program with WWC in order to have student inquiries from the fairs they cannot attend themselves.
How many schools from the same country are showcased at one event?
Participation is limited to a maximum of 4 schools offering similar programs from the same country. Worldwide Classroom's showcase is popular among students because it includes both academic and experiential programs from many countries.
What if a student enrolls in my school after seeing my brochure 'showcased', do I owe WWC anything?
You owe us nothing, except perhaps a thank you! After we forward the student request to you, we expect that you will answer student questions and enroll interested students directly. The whole purpose of outreach is to put students directly in touch with you so they receive the most complete answers to their questions. We all share the goal of wanting to help students find programs which best meet their needs. We do not know if or when a student enrolls with your school. In order to track the effectiveness of certain fairs, many schools inform us of their results, but it is not required to do so.
How many of my brochures do you need?
A total of 100 brochures will be used for the 40 showcases. One brochure will be used in the showcase at each fair for students to view and one reference copy will be delivered for use by students at participating university Study Abroad Libraries. If the brochure you wish to have showcased will not be printed by September 10, you may send a temporary brochure or flyer which we will use at university fairs and conferences until your updated brochure arrives.
