Academia Latinoamericana de Espa�ol

The Academia Latinoamericana de Espa�ol offers excellent programs for those who wish to quickly develop a working proficiency in Spanish. Choose from group, individual and super intensive courses to activities and teen programs, all taught by native speakers of Spanish. Courses start every Monday all year round and last from one week up to as many weeks as you wish. Besides Spanish classes, we also offer careers in Business Administration and Environmental Sciences. You may combine your Spanish course with volunteer work in a social or ecological project in a school, kindergarten, nursery or animal park. Besides regular classes students participate in cultural seminars, field trips, dance and cooking classes. Afternoon activities are arranged to local sights such as markets, cathedrals, museums and touristic sights of each city as well as soccer games, movie nights etc. Every arriving student will have a welcome orientation and city tour. We organize you trips, tours, transport and accommodation anywhere in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia - and what makes us truly unique: we are the only Spanish school in South America with schools in three different countries - you may even combine a Spanish course in several destinations while you explore these wonderful and exotic countries.

We are registered with and recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education. Certificates are awarded after completion of study, and college credit is available in the United States. Our program is also approved by the Ecuadorian - German Chamber of Commerce and recognized as a Bildungsurlaub in Germany.

The focus of the Academia Latinoamericana is on communication and our methodology involves a natural approach to the Spanish language. The classes are dedicated to oral and written expression and comprehension as well as vocabulary and grammar studies. We guarantee that there are never more than 5 students in a group, often even less. On the first day of classes each student passes a written and oral placement test. There are nine levels of proficiency from complete beginner to superior and throughout the course students are tested on a weekly basis, so everyone continues gradually according to their own pace and personal effort.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided in local host families so that you get full immersion in the Spanish language and you get to know our local culture. You will feel the incredible warm-heartedness of South American families while you practice the Spanish language in a natural surrounding and everyday situations. Another option is to stay at our own student residence directly on the school campus.

Cusco

The picturesque town of Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, is a unique place to learn Spanish. Cusco is easily discovered on foot and offers a great number of historic sights and attractions. Its proximity to the World Cultural Heritage Site of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley magically attract visitors from around the world. Cusco is also a great starting point from where to explore Lake Titicaca with its crystal clear blue waters and the breathtaking canyon landscapes of southern Peru.

Academia Latinoamericana in Cusco

The Academia Latinoamericana in Cusco occupies a beautiful Colonial building on one of the many small plazas, right behind one of the most important site from pre-Colombian Cusco, the Korikancha (Temple of the Sun). Its picturesque setting and homely atmosphere make you feel welcome from the very first day. The building houses two full floors with 17 classrooms, an indoor patio, video room, auditorium, entertainment room and wireless access to internet for our students. The Academia is conveniently located next to the main post-office, internet cafes, banks, casas de cambio, etc and only four blocks from the main square, the Plaza de Armas, the central meeting area of Cusco (a great place to people watch!). There are many restaurants, cafes, cathedrals and museums nearby.
