In the course of the foundation of Central European universities, King Luise the Great established the first Hungarian university in P�cs in 1367. Thus the history of Hungarian higher education goes back to this date.
The University of Pecs is the largest higher education institution in Hungary with a wide range of research and educational activities. The number of students is nearly 35.000 with 2.000 lecturers. There are ten faculties:
